Brian Nguyen is a cinematographer based in Los Angeles, CA. With over ten years of experience behind the camera, his work spans feature films, commercials, and documentaries, with a focus on narrative storytelling.
 

Brian is a graduate of the American Film Institute, where he earned his Master's in Cinematography. Upon graduation, he mentored under esteemed cinematographer Christian Sebaldt, ASC (CSI, Lucifer, How to Get Away with Murder), where he learned to bring his craft to large-scale productions.
 

Beyond his work on set, Brian is the CEO and co-founder of Filmatic AI, a company designing and building machine learning and AI tools that help filmmakers enhance their workflows. He is an expert in camera technology and color science, with a deep understanding of both motion picture film (16mm, 35mm) and digital workflows — knowledge he applies to every project's look development and image pipeline.

Brian regularly returns to his alma mater, the American Film Institute, as a guest lecturer on AI/machine learning and digital camera science, and also lectures at Cal State University, Northridge and other film programs.
